Team-building

Question

You have been asked to lead a ten-person team within your department. You know that several of these team members have not worked well together on previous group projects, so you have decided to put the team through a series of team-building activities.

Review the important themes within the sub questions of each bullet point. The sub questions are designed to get you thinking about some of the important issues. Your response should provide a succinct synthesis of the key themes in a way that articulates a clear point, position, or conclusion supported by research. Select a different bullet point section than what your classmates have already posted so that we can engage several discussions on relevant topics. If all of the bullet points have been addressed, then you may begin to re-use the bullet points with the expectation that varied responses continue.

–   Define your top three goals or objectives for the team-building activities for the scenario. Defend why those goals are appropriate. Also assess at least two other possible goals and justify why they did not make your top-three list.

–   Select two articles that discuss whether team-building activities really help. Briefly note what you learned from the articles. Did they guide you to select the best activities, or did they warn you away from certain activities? Justify three best practices for team building activities that emerge from the articles.

–   Team dynamics include both productivity (task) and cohesiveness (relationship) components. Identify three team building activities and assess the extent each influences on productivity and cohesion. Evaluate how cohesion and productivity are linked.

The final paragraph (three or four sentences) of your initial post should summarize the one or two key points that you are making in your initial response.

What evidence can you provide to support your conclusions about team cohesion? Are there any pieces of evidence that might contradict your conclusion?

How might you increase the amount of team cohesion (in essence, what intervention methods, such as role-playing and so forth, would you use)?

  • How productive is your team? (Productivity is a measurement of task fulfillment by team members.)

What evidence can you provide to support your conclusions about team productivity? Are there any pieces of evidence that might contradict your conclusion?

How might you increase the amount of team productivity (e.g., what intervention methods would you use)?

  • Who needs to be involved in the team development plan for it to be a success?
  • What is the time frame for implementing your plan?
  • Prepare a 5-page team plan that addresses the following issues:

What is the organization you are working with (to remind your readers)?

What is the team cohesion need that should be addressed, and what is the intervention for that need?

  • What is the team productivity need that should be addressed, and what is the intervention for that need?

In this course, you will have six Critical Thinking assignments where you will respond to assignment questions to develop an essay. Essays have an introduction (to the topic of the assignment), a body (where you will integrate your responses), and a conclusion (your thoughts on the assignment). Please do not just answer the questions as is. It is best to use APA (7th ed) headings to capture the essence of the questions as a way to make sure you have integrated all of the responses in your essay. Also, make sure you are using an APA (7th ed) paper template as a starting point.

WHEN A RETURN IS SUFFICIENT TO START THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS

QUESTION

TEAM ASSIGNMENT 1: DETERMINING WHEN A RETURN IS SUFFICIENT TO
START THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS. (rev’d 090721).

Determining the Statute of Limitations: While the statute of limitations for examination is
generally three years from the date a return is filed, the statue can be automatically extended, can
be voluntarily extended, or tolled under various provisions provided in the code, regulations,
rulings and court cases. Your job is to advise your clients as to the applicable statute of
limitations based on the fact pattern to be provided to you below. Remember: the date a return is
deemed filed is a question of both fact and law.
It is October 1, 2021. The clients have not filed their joint current year’s tax return. No
extension has been filed. Your clients have filed timely in the past and there is no reason to
suspect that there is unreported income (once the return is filed). They live in Florida and have
been unaffected by a hurricane or other severe weather event. Your team must write a
memorandum to the client explaining when a tax return filing will be deemed sufficient to start
the statute of limitations for both examination and assessment purposes. In addition, the clients
have asked if they should file a joint tax return under the facts above. You should cite, as
appropriate, the code, regulations, rulings, court cases… etc. Make sure that the memo addresses
all the following questions for both types of returns:

Just Questions 3 & 4

3. What are the exceptions to the general statute of limitations on Assessment?
4. When is a return deemed sufficient to start the statute of limitations?

Econ102 Macroeconomics

QUESTION

Assignment 1: Demand-side Policies and the Great Recession of 2008

Macroeconomic analysis deals with the crucial issue of government involvement in the operation of “free market economy.” The Keynesian model suggests that it is the responsibility of the government to help to stabilize the economy. Stabilization policies (demand-side and supply-side policies) are undertaken by the federal government to counteract business cycle fluctuations and prevent high rates of unemployment and inflation. Demand side policies are government attempts to alter aggregate demand (AD) through using fiscal (cutting taxes and increasing government spending) or monetary policy (reducing interest rates). To shift the AD to the right, the government has to increase the government spending (the G-component of AD) causing consumer expenditures (the C-component of AD) to increase. Alternatively the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates reducing the cost of borrowing thereby encouraging consumer spending and investment borrowing. Both policies will lead to an increase in AD.

Develop an essay discussing the fiscal and the monetary policies adopted and implemented by the federal during the Great Recession and their impacts on the U.S. economy. Complete this essay in a Microsoft Word document, and in APA format. Note your submission will automatically be submitted through “TurnItIn” for plagiarism review. Please note that a minimum of 1500 words for your essay is required.

Your paper should be structured as follows

1. Cover page with a running head

2. Introduction: What is the economic meaning of a recession?

· A brief discussion of fiscal policies

· A brief discussion of monetary policies

3. Conclusions: Discuss the extent to which the use of demand side policies (fiscal policy and monetary policy) during the Great Recession of 2008 has been successful in restoring economic growth and reducing unemployment

The Role of Mentoring and Trusted Advisors in Personal and Professional Growth

Introduction:

In a world where continuous growth is not just valued but essential for success, the role of mentors and trusted advisors becomes increasingly significant. It underscores the importance of both seeking guidance and providing it, illustrating how these relationships fulfill our basic human needs for connection, growth, and mutual success.

How do you envision implementing these strategies to both seek and provide mentorship throughout your career and life?

BB3 – Fieldnotes

Question

COMM 462: Field Notes

Identify a site of study for participant observation. Practice thick Question and self-reflexivity in your field notes. Include your research question at the top of the page.

Include the following three sections in your field notes: (Chiseri-Strater & Sunstein, 1997):

1. Thick Question of everything you can remember about the occasion you are writing about – a meal, a ritual, a meeting, a sequence of events, etc. While it is useful to focus primarily on things you did or observed which relate to the guiding research question, some amount of general information is also helpful. This information might help in writing a general Question of the site later, but it may also help to link related phenomena to one another or to point our useful research directions later.

Self-Reflection on what you learned of a personal nature. What was it like for you to be doing this research? What felt comfortable for you about being in this site and what felt uncomfortable? In what ways did you connect with informants, and in what ways didn’t you? While this is extremely important information, be especially careful to separate it from analysis.

Analysis of what you learned in the setting regarding your guiding question and other related points. This is how you will make links between the details described in section 2 above and the larger things you are learning about how culture works in this context. What themes can you begin to identify regarding your guiding question? What questions do you have to help focus your observation on subsequent visits? Can you begin to draw preliminary connections or potential conclusions based on what you learned?
