Rough Draft

Question

Assignment 6: Rough Draft

The library guide for this class  (https://nu.libguides.com/ENG240) contains readings in every undergraduate major that requires this class. Read the articles in the tab that corresponds to your major area of study. If you don’t know what your major will be or if you are pursuing general studies, you may choose any subject that interests you.

  1. Compose a 5- or 6-page double-spaced research paper written in response to one or more of the class readings. This paper will focus on an argument. This means it will make an arguable claim on a debatable subject or (possibly) propose and answer a research question in your field. All the assignments in this class have helped you prepare for the final assignment, so you should have much of the work completed already. Now it is time to assemble it all into a coherent whole.

One body paragraph i had to submit

Why Schools Should Teach Social Emotional Learning Inside Classrooms?

  1.                        There are many benefits to why social emotional learning should be taught in classrooms by student’s teachers. For starters, social emotional learning can improve student’s academics. Social emotional learning (SEL) has been proven to better children’s behaviors. If a child is constantly acting act, then they are not learning. If a child is not learning, it also means they are not meeting their academic requirements to succeed. Social emotional learning can better a child’s interpersonal skills. The way a child communicate with their peers and their teachers are very important because a positive relationship with their peers and classmates matters. Having a relationship with their peers and teachers will ensure the students likeliness to want to come to school each day. Social and emotional learning also influence the child’s emotional well-being. Being able to control their emotions and express their emotions in a healthy way. It is important when a child understands having a feeling, good or bad is normal. However, it is the way you respond to your feelings is what really matters. One of the goals that social emotional learning teach is for students to express themselves in a healthier way.

The professor feedback from the annotated bibliography

  1. Good start, Fatima. I think the big note is that you’re likely to need more than three body paragraphs to support a full 5-6 page final paper, so you’ll want to explore ways to flesh out this piece.I think being more direct in taking a stand on your thesis statement could help. As I read here, I wondered a bit how the connections would be made between the paragraphs, so thinking through how each of these paragraphs connect to your argument will be important.
  2. We already have the intro/conclusion plus one body paragraph. Let’s revise the body paragraph I wrote posted above and extend it to meet the full requirements.

PSY1010 Touchstone 32- Workplace Styles

Question

SCENARIO: Monica and Jennifer are coworkers that have been assigned to work on a project together. Jennifer is very organized and wants her and Monica to do really well on this project. To get started, Jennifer took some initiative and prepared a list of to-do items along with the due dates. She even color-coded the list to indicate who will do which item. Shortly after, Jennifer sends an email to Monica with the to-do list attached. Jennifer wants her partner to know that she is serious about their success.

Monica is happy her teammate has shown initiative but is surprised by Jennifer’s to-do list and feels a bit uncomfortable as she is feeling like Jennifer is micromanaging her. Monica wants to do her part on the project but is feeling anxious because she doesn’t know where she fits in. Monica is worried about working on the project. She wonders if she can succeed in this project since Jennifer is already the leader. Prior to this situation, Monica worked for a separate employer who asked her to work on a similar project. She felt anxious about her ability to successfully complete the project and attempted to communicate her feelings with a co-worker. However, her co-worker didn’t seem to understand Monica’s concerns and said that she should just ignore her feelings and get the work done.

As Monica ponders having a conversation with Jennifer, she starts to feel overwhelmed and thinks it might just be easier to be removed from the project.

ASSIGNMENT: Now, it is time to practice the skills and concepts that you have learned to help your friend Monica navigate through a difficult workplace situation. Using your problem solving and self and social awareness skill, as well as what you have learned about personality traits and emotions, answer the questions in this case study assignment. Remember, you are to help Monica calm her anxiety and find a solution to her problem.

Assignment (use the attached template)

DIRECTIONS: To complete the assignment, you will answer the following four questions in 5-7 sentences each:

  1. What are the “Big 5” personality traits? Name and describe each of them, using specific details and information from the case study and course lessons.
  2. Consider the different approaches to the project taken by both Monica and Jennifer. On which of the Big 5 personality traits do they most differ? Discuss these differences in their personality traits.
  3. Using what you learned about emotions, what advice would you give to Monica? Describe a specific strategy that Monica can use to manage her emotions and successfully complete the project.
  4. If you were in this situation, how confident are you that you could successfully resolve a workplace conflict like the one that Monica faced? What past experiences or knowledge influence your answer? Explain how your experience or knowledge can resolve a similar workplace conflict.

STATISTICS FOR CATEGORICAL DATA

Question

ODDS RATIOS AND CHI-SQUARE

This assignment focuses on categorical data. Two of the statistics most often used to test hypotheses about categorical data are odds ratios (ORs) and the chi-square. The disease-OR refers to the odds in favor of disease in the exposed group divided by the odds in favor of the unexposed group. Chi-square statistics measure the difference between the observed counts and the corresponding expected counts. The expected counts are hypothetical counts that would occur if the null hypothesis were true.

PART 1: ORS

A study conducted by López-Carnllo, Avila, and Dubrow (1994) investigated health hazards associated with the consumption of food local to a particular geographic area, in this case chili peppers particular to Mexico. It was a population-based case-control study in Mexico City on the relationship between chili pepper consumption and gastric cancer risk. Subjects for the study consisted of 213 incident cases and 697 controls randomly selected from the general population. Interviews produced the following information regarding chili consumption:

Table 1: Chili Pepper Consumption and Gastric Cancer Risk

Chili pepper consumption Case of gastric cancer Controls

Yes A = 204 B = 552

No C = 9 D = 145

Epidemiology, 139(3), 263–271.

Note: You do not need to use the SPSS software to complete this assignment.

In a Microsoft Excel worksheet, calculate the odds of having gastric cancer.

In addition, provide a written interpretation of your results in APA format.

Refer to the Assignment Resources: Odds Ratio to view an example of odds ratio. The same resource is also available under lecture Testing Hypotheses.

PART 2: CHI-SQUARE

Bain, Willett, Hennekens, Rosner, Belanger, and Speizer (1981) conducted a study of the association between current postmenopausal hormone use and risk of nonfatal myocardial infarction (MI), in which 88 women reporting a diagnosis of MI and 1,873 healthy control subjects were identified from a large population of married female registered nurses aged thirty to fifty-five years. There were 32 women who currently used hormones and had a diagnosis of MI and 56 women reporting a MI and never used hormones. Of the women controls (women who did not report a MI) 825 currently use hormones and 1,048 never used hormones. To test the hypothesis that there is no association between use of postmenopausal hormones and risk of MI, chi-square statistics need to be calculated in SPSS using a 0.05 level of significance. The SPSS data are provided in the link below. The SPSS dataset consists of two variables:

MKT 265- Final Project Milestone Two

QUESTION

Overview

The digital marketing landscape is constantly changing, and companies must be nimble and able to develop, evaluate, and change their digital marketing strategies in a short amount of time. Traditional marketing allowed marketers to create brand messaging and control how it was shared with an audience. But now more than ever, control over what is said about a brand or product has been put into the hands of consumers. The internet, social media, and mobile platforms have given rise to the voice of customers, and marketers have had to adapt.

Prompt

For this assignment, you will examine the social media platforms used by the brand you selected. You will discuss how these platforms are used to support the brand’s digital marketing strategy. Before recommending changes to a brand’s digital presence, it is important to review and analyze its current state. This will help inform changes and improvements in the new media campaign.

Specifically, the following critical elements from Final Project I must be addressed:

Social Media Platforms: In this section, examine the social media platforms used by the brand you selected. Discuss how these platforms are used to support the brand’s digital marketing strategy.

Identify the social media platforms the brand uses and explain how they align to the brand’s target market.

Describe how the brand uses each social media platform. Consider what the brand’s social media posts consist of or look like.

  1. Describe how the brand must modify posts in order to accommodate the differing functionalities of social media platforms. In other words, how does a brand need to change a post between various social media platforms in order to communicate the same message?

Evaluating Digital Marketing Campaigns: Before recommending changes to a brand’s digital presence, review and analyze its current state. This analysis will help inform changes and improvements in the new media campaign.

Strengths

  1. Determine which digital platforms would be most effective for the brand to use. Consider the overall brand, messaging strategy, and other marketing activities. Be sure to cite examples.

Describe what the brand is doing well on digital media. Support your response with examples.

  1. Weaknesses

Identify a platform that the brand is currently using for marketing and could be improved or utilized more effectively. Support your response with examples.

  1. Determine what the brand could improve on regarding its digital activity. Support your response with examples.

Describe how the brand could use research to better focus its digital activity.

  1. Note: The Legal and Ethical Considerations section of Final Project I (section III.B) has been intentionally omitted from this milestone. That section will be addressed when submitting the complete final project in Module Seven.

What to Submit

Your paper should be a 2- to 4-page (excluding the title and references pages) Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-pt. Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and at least three sources cited in APA format.
