Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to use different types of observation and conduct observations of physical, social, cognitive, and/or language development by using appropriate observation strategies.

Directions:

For this assignment, you will conduct 3 observations.

1. Conduct three observations of development. Use a different category of development for each observation (language, cognitive, physical, social-emotional).
2. Use a different type of observation for each, selected from anecdotal records, running records, time sampling, and event sampling. Describe the purposes of the different types of observations.
3. Use an adaptation of the sample observation form in Figure 5-7 for each of the three observations.
4. Fill out the observation form from page 133 of the textbook for each observation conducted. Scan copies of observation records and include them in the same word document.

Objectives. The objectives of this assignment are (1) to research legal cases online, and (2) to enhance the written and communication skills of the student.

Required. Include at least, the following: (1) case citation; (2) a statement of the legal issue(s) in the case; (3) decision(s) and/or case holdings, and (4) rationale regarding the decision (Also, see the Appendix at the end of Chapter 1 for examples.)

Grading. You will be graded on the organization and quality of the case brief, as well as your ability to follow directions. For example, turning in a case brief with improper grammar and/or spelling will not help the overall quality component of your grade on this assignment. Further, not including one or more of the required elements will negatively impact your score on this assignment.

1.The Literary Paper Read Chapter 48, “Reading and Writing about Literature” in the textbook and complete the worksheet to be submitted on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Also, read the handout information, “Guidelines for Writing a Literary Critical Analysis”. Then find three poems and one secondary source (reference) for each poem and bring to class on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 for approval. One of the poems is to be chosen and used to prepare a literary paper (your interpretation, analysis or critique of that poem). A secondary source is any information (critique and/or analysis) written by another writer about the poem.Reading Suggestion: You may use any literature books, poetry books or even the Internet to find the poem and the reference information. You are to prepare a 1-2 page (excluding the cover and works cited/reference pages) typewritten paper for submission

Each team will submit a written analysis of each of the cases. The written analysis should briefly present the facts of the case, identify the major issues and problems, generate and evaluate alternative solutions, recommend and justify a solution, and suggest an implementation strategy. More detail about the suggested case analysis process will be provided. The written analysis should be limited to 6 pages, supported by charts, diagrams, tables, etc. used within the text. All writing assignments should follow APA guidelines, including a title page and reference page (not included in page limits). Headings should be used to identify topics within your report and will assist the reader in flow of your main points and sub-topics. Credible sources should be leveraged to add credibility to your assessment of the case situation and your recommendations to improve the situation.
