Written Report, Due September 24, 2019: Invention Backstory: How did it really happen?

Many great inventions are often the result of serendipity or chance occurrences. Pick a technology invention, investigate how the inventor made the breakthrough discovery that put him or her on the path to commercializing their invention

Please adhere to the following guidelines:

Write-up must be printed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper (no handwritten papers will be accepted). Use 12-point font and 1.5 spaced lines

Report should include a 1 page executive summary with no more than 4 additional pages of text, not including illustrations, exhibits, and tables.

Staple

all the pages together in the upper left-hand corner.

Some people argue that evolution is “only a theory.” Explaining how natural selection works and describing the evidence which illustrates the principles of evolution in action can be complex. Let’s simplify this process by starting with the basics: the scientific method. A great deal has been argued about the evidence for evolution. Over the last 150 years, data has been amassed demonstrating examples of evolution in action. Two of the most common examples are the peppered moths in London and the finches Darwin noted in the Galapagos Islands. Your task is to add to that list – do your best to find samples no one else has shared.

THE TASK:

1. Locate one (1) example to share with the class and summarize your findings, explaining how the example fits the task. (15 points)
2. Your post should be a minimum of 250+ words. (5 points)
3. Cite resources used. (5 points)

Refer back to the interview and evaluation you conducted in the Topic 2 Family Health Assessment assignment. Identify the social determinates of health (SDOH) contributing to the family’s health status. In a 750-1,000-word paper, create a plan of action to incorporate health promotion strategies for this family. Include the following:

1. Describe the SDOH that affect the family health status. What is the impact of these SDOH on the family? Discuss why these factors are prevalent for this family.
2. Based on the information gathered through the family health assessment, recommend age-appropriate screenings for each family member. Provide support and rationale for your suggestions.
3. Choose a health model to assist in creating a plan of action. Describe the model selected. Discuss the reasons why this health model is the best choice for this family. Provide rationale for your reasoning.
4. Using the model, outline the steps for a family-centered health promotion. Include strategies for communication.

Cite at least three peer-reviewed or scholarly sources to complete this assignment. Sources should be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria.

While these assumptions are factually correct, they do not need to keep you from being comfortable and fluent reading research. This assignment provides you with an opportunity to use this reading as a tool to practice and hone your research reading skills. • Keep the Glossary in the course text nearby and use it as a guide to terminology that might be new to you and that you may encounter when reading research articles.
• Chose one of the research articles listed below.
