Joseph Beuys often explored the idea of The Shaman in his work. The Shaman was a major Theme for his artwork. At times he was a self proclaimed Shaman.

We discussed Shamanism in class. We talked about the artist as Shaman who prays for healing through their artwork, or the Shaman who explores consciousness, or the transition from life to death in art

1. Please write a short definition of “Shaman”

2. Locate a work of art from Pre-History or from Post-Modern/Global Contemporary. Your choice of art work or artist should be selected only to help you explain an instance when the artist is The Shaman. Write your unique argument on why the artist can be the Shaman, and explain in a short paragraphs (6-8 sentences)

3. Please upload an image or video of the artwork that is connected to your explanation.

Whether you’ve set a goal to lose weight, change nutritional options, start an exercise or stick with an exercise routine, there are many potential physical and mental obstacles/challenges you may encounter along the way. Quitting or allowing an obstacle/challenge to hinder your goals is failing! Everyone fails at times. It’s not how many times you get knocked down that counts. It’s how many times you get up that matters.

Briefly describe two ways you will motivate yourself to successfully perform an exercise routine.

When working with clients/students it is important that we as counselors are purposeful with our words, use of skills, use of techniques, and our exhibited behaviors. Theory is what helps to guide how we conceptualize client situations and work with our clients and students.
