Les Demoiselles d’Avignon was one of the most noteworthy work of twentieth century. The best work of cubism painting. The absolute first time the thought of cubic painting was utilized in this image. In spite of the fact that this was made in 1907 it was not brought into the open not after 1916. In this image ladies have secured most piece of the depiction in 5 unique stances. This is essentially an image of a brothel on the Avignon. All ladies in picture are the prostitutes of Barcelona. a representation of a work

Question Description

Read “Silence and the Notion of the Commons” by Ursula Franklin.

Write a 1.5-2 page representation, addressing an intelligent reader who is not familiar with the essay. Remember, a representation is not a list or a simple summary; your writing here instead must fully introduce the text and consist of a combination of summary, quotes/evidence, and intelligent reflection/thinking (analysis) about what you put down on the page. It should convey the heart of a text, the thing the writer is concerned about, how they wrestle with that dilemma, and what they want us to understand about it.

Remember to:

  • introduce the text and its author;
  • explain what the driving problem/tension is;
  • use active words when describing the author’s ideas;
  • be present in your representation: make interpretive claims, explain things in your own voice, generate language to describe what you see in the essay;
  • work with evidence (no evidence should be left without comments and no claims should stand alone without evidence);
  • be selective about what evidence you are bringing in (you cannot cover everything, but you need to provide your reader with enough information and reflection to understand the essay and your interpretation of it).

Finally, at the end of your representation, write down several questions that this essay has made you ask yourself. These may be questions for further research (something that you would like to learn more about), questions you would like to ask the author of the essay about the subject matter if you could meet with them in person, or – the most important kind – questions that you are now asking yourself that you did not occur to you before you read the essay. At this starting point in your work on the essay, brainstorming questions is beneficial: the more questions you can think of in relation to the essay, the better.

In MLA style, in-text parenthetical citations and works cited are required.

Please DO NOT use plenty of summary, go deeper.

Book Janson Basic History of Western Art

Question: Identify a common subject/theme or stylistic characteristic of Baroque art and explain why you think these commonalities exist.

Respond to this Answer: Baroque art had many common themes. “Some of thequalities that characterize the Baroque are grandeur, sensual richness,emotional exuberance, tension, movement, and the successful unification of thevarious arts,” (Roberts). A few themes I found to be very common were theintensity of the darkness and light in the pictures, the drama displayed, andthe realism of the paintings. In The Calling of St. Matthew, we can see thedarkness, the movement, the realism, and the drama in this painting. I foundthat most Baroque art was displaying these themes. This was a time when changewas happening, and this art was new. The art work seems to show emotion. Youcan see in The Calling of St. Matthew that there is many things happening allthat tie back into the many themes of Baroque art. There is the difference inthe clothes, the bright light from Christ allows for the intensity of thedarkness, the is much drama and emotion shown through the expressions, andmovement shown within this painting. There is a lot happening in the paintingas well. I think that these commonalities all bring together this time periodof art. It was a more realistic time period for the art. I think that thesepieces of art show much talent to bring together all these themes. Thesepaintings seem to all tell a more detailed setting or story during this timeperiod. “The strengthened Catholic faith, the absolutist state, thenew science, and the beginnings of the modern world combined in a volatilemixture that gave the Baroque era its fascinating quality,” (Roberts).

Purpose and Appropriateness of Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2

Question Description

When administering a self-report personality assessment, psychologists must take an individual’s motivation and intent into account. For example, in job interviews individuals usually want to cast themselves in the best possible light when asked about their personality traits that influence work habits. The MMPI-2 is one assessment instrument that takes motivation and intent into account, but how do you know that this instrument is appropriate for your setting? How might the MMPI-2 assist you in gathering accurate self-report data in a specific setting?

For this Discussion, review this week’s Learning Resources. It is also recommended that you revisit the Arbisi et al. (2006), Gilmore et al. (2001), and the Wygant et al. (2010) articles on settings from Week 2. Then consider the purpose for using the MMPI-2 and whether the MMPI-2 would be appropriate for the setting you selected for your Week 2 discussion.

With these thoughts in mind:

Write a description of the purpose for using the MMPI-2. Then explain how you might use the MMPI-2 in the setting you selected in your Week 2 Discussion and explain how and why it may be appropriate. Be sure to title your discussion post with the setting.
