  1. Students will develop a 1-2 page Health Fact Sheet based onan aging topic of their choosing. This would be with the idea that itcould be placed at a senior center or handed out to older adults foreducational purposes. It is recommend that students use the text toassist with topic ideas. Callista Roy and Betty Neuman’s theories view the person (individual, group, or community) as a holistic adaptive system that constantly interacts with the internal and external environments. Laura asks him about his overall health and he tells her about a nagging cough and how he sometimes feels short of breath. He then denies any other health problems. Laura takes Mr. Lamont’s vital signs and gets the following results: blood pressure, 156/94 mm Hg; temperature, 99.8° F orally; apical pulse, 104 beats/min; respiration, 25 breaths/min and regular; and pulse oximetry, 95%.

XML has many advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages of XML is that it is platform and language independent, so it can be used on any system and is very adaptable with changes. Another advantage is that it supports Unicode, so any program written in a human language will be supported. The final advantage is that data can be updated without the user interface being affected. The main disadvantages of XML come from it being redundant. The redundancy causes large file sizes, high transport and storage costs, and the document itself is less readable than other data types.

At least partly for the reasons given in the article, the federal government is trying to reduce the number of IT services contractors and to hire qualified staff to replace them. At the same time, the federal government is cutting costs, which means that there are fewer contracts for the contractors, so they are laying off staff. What do you think? Are there too many IT services contractors? Will the federal government be able to hire enough qualified staff to replace them despite the tight budgets?
