Hope was what most of the new leaders that emerged after the Great Depression hit were trying to provide. We see it with Mussolini, we see it in Germany with Hitler, in the Russian Revolution although before the Depression, with Lenin, and we even see it in the United States with the election of Franklin Roosevelt.
